Membrane?????? Worried!

Tag: Pregnancy

Okay so I had my first dr.'s appointment today and they said everything was fine except one "small" thing. They said they took a picture of the babies crown and there is a membrane around it. They said that this is not something they normally see and that I have to go for more testing on Thursday to make sure it is nothing serious. Has anyone ever heard of this? I am really worried my baby has a birth defect or something now. Please help. It is driving me nuts! Thank you for any help that can be provided.

I am 11 weeks along. The doctor did an ultrasound of the crown and it came back with what they "think" is an extra membrane around the right side of the crown. They are sending me to a specialist to do a different kind of ultrasound, not sure what kind. I am hoping it is normal and that they just don't normally see it at their office. Thank you for the support.

How far along are you? Explain at little more what you are talking about, membrane. They are drs, so i'm sure they know what they are talking about. But at my 7 and again at 9 weeks you could see a ring around the baby. I think it is called the corion (sp?) and that is normal. I guess i'm just not sure what you are talking about. what kind of tests are they going to do? I hope everything comes back normal, and i will definately pray that things do.

Yeah I looked up chorion and it doesn't appear to be what this looks like. I wish I could post a picture to show you.....bummer. Anyways I don't know if the information I posted before this post will help.
