How long is NORMAL

I had unprotected sex Dec. 18, 2006. I've been tested at the 1 week, 2 month, 3 month, 3-1/2 month, 4 month mark for HIV/AIDS.

The sex lasted for under 2 minutes because I realized what I was doing so I stopped. However, the risk is still there.

I'm going crazy thinking about the fact that I might still have something even at the 5 month mark (which is this week). I'm having symptoms and I know it's probably my mind playing with me.

How common is it for someone to test positive after 3-4 months???

Someone with some knowledge please help. I read and ask doctor after doctor they all say 6 months, but can't explain why. I need some info on how common is it for people to have positive results after the 3 month mark.

the cdc says 3 months is the window,it would be safe to say your negative, first off you don't even know if your partner was pos to begin with and you have passed 5 tests. put it behind you and move on

Are there any cases that would take longer to test positive?

Does a healthy body test positive faster? or around the 5-6 month?

A positive test result means that your body is producing antibodies to HIV. How long that takes is completely individual.

If you were experiencing sero-conversion, which is what causes symptoms in some people, then you would have antibodies and you would test positive.

You can rest assured that you do NOT have HIV and any symptoms you are experiencing are something else.

i know its hard waiting, i am going through the same thing. i am actually going for my 10 month (i know smiteler...no way no how) but the ID is reccommending it. i do realize, and so should you, that for most people 3 months is sufficient! good luck
