First Month on the pill

Tag: Birth Control

I started taking my pills even before I was on period, my doctor said it was alright. Now I am on the placebo pills when I am suppose to be getting my period and it still hasn't come yet. I read that taking the pill before your period delays it longer but I am still worried. I have never had sex, so I don't believe that it could be pregnancy.

My friend did recommended getting a test anyways. Should I be worried? Or is this normal for me to skip my period and if it's possible for it to be delayed? I have been getting the same symptoms every time my period comes but there hasn't been any bleeding.

Any comments related to this topic will be much appreciated

I'll say nothing new, I think Kzan already cover it.
I just wanted to reinforce the 'don't worry' idea. Just give your body some time and you'll find your rythm. If you are planning on having sex any time soon, just wait until your cycle becomes regular.

I am suprised at your doctor for telling you that! Not only that but you should have read the pamplet that comes with your birth control pills. There are 2 ways you can start taking the pills. One of them is the Sunday start. You start the pill the first Sunday after you have your period.

You should find that paper and read it. There are alot of things that can happen while taking the pill. Like weight gain/ weight loss, headaches, acne or no acne , blood clots, stroke etc. It's important for you to be aware of the signs and know what may happen when taking them.

You are not pregnant. The male must insert his privates into yours and leave behind sperm inorder for there to be a chance of you being pregnant.

It will take time for your cycle to get back to normal but it will in time. It can take 3 months for some people it may take a bit longer.

Just make sure you take it every day at the same time or very close to the same time. If you miss a pill that can cause break through bleeding or mess up your cycle more. It's best not to fool around with hormones they can cause you more problems if you do. Go read that paper.

Thank you everyone who posted. As for my doctor, it's not my regular doctor, he was one that was recommended to me because he is within our school and was told good things about him. Not too sure about that anymore, I think I'll be going for a second opinion about all of this. After I started taking it before my period I knew that it was a bit odd but didn't feel anything wrong physically.

As for my friend being dumb. Yeah, she isn't the brightest thing in the world. But I guess when you are desperate/nervous any advice sounds good.

So thank you all for putting my mind at ease over this subject.
