Committment Phobic Ex Getting Married? WTF?

It's true. My ex announced he's engaged. Casually...much like Mr. Big did with Carrie on Sex & The City. Unlike Carrie, I didn't scream and trip out of the restaurant...just said congrats. But I'm a little stumped. This guy was afraid of his own shadow.

This is the sort of situation that is NEVER going to be right. If he had not mentioned it, and you saw it, say in the social pages or heard about it, you would have thought "well, why couldn't he have at least told me in person when I saw him?" It is going to be a stomach-kicker either way. I can't think of any way to hear this news and feel good about it. Sera

I agree, there really is no good way to hear this news. It sucks either way you hear it. It is pretty sad that he would marry because of other people's perception of him rather than for love But hey, at least you are not the one he is marrying for this reason, right?

Exes do really weird things sometimes! My EX husband that I have known for 30 years(married 24), turned into Mr Opposite after our divorce! I swear! Everything that he "lived by" are totally the opposite now! Every thing that he hated in women is now what he looks for in women...it's just crazy! He used to hate the idea of procrastinating about anything, now they joke about how bad he procrastinates about everything! I don't even know who he is anymore! One thing constant though...he still DRINKS! That's never going to change...HAHA!

Maybe he figured that if he doesn't commit to marriage, he's going to just keep losing the women he falls in love with?
