Can low estrogen affect blood sugar levels?
Tag: DiabetesHi Tigger. I don't know about the oestrogen, but it is certainly possible to feel symptoms of low blood sugar when it's in the normal range. This is usually due to your body having become accustomed to high sugar levels over a period of time, or a very rapid drop in the glucose levels.
This happened to me frequently in the first few weeks after diagnosis, as my body was becoming used to the more normal levels.
Providing the glucose level is in the normal range, this won't do you any harm, and worth perservering with because the symptoms will lessen as the body becomes used to functioning in the normal range. Hope this helps, mandy.
100% ditto what Mandy said. It won't take too long to get used to normal glucose. If the feeling of "low" persisits, talk to your doc. But in the meantime, just keep track of where you are running. Also, if you can spare the test strips, when you feel low do a test, and then do another one about 15 minutes or so later and see what direction you are heading.
Good luck.
