Health questions:What does getting your back "lanced" mean?

Tag: General Health Care Pain & Pain Management

I am not sure.
Ordinarily "lanced" means pierced, where a needle or "lance" is inserted into an object, usually to drain fluids.
For instance: a boil on your back, or a cyst inside your body that can be accessed posteriorly.
To say you are getting "your back" lanced is too general and vague for me to be able to explain what it means.
The Dr. suggesting or performing this procedure will be able to clarify it for you, I'm sure.

Lanced means "punctured" or "pierced", not "cut".

A lance is a needle in medical terms.

If you lance a boil it means to POP THAT ZIT!
I think though, perhaps it is where you stick hooks in yer back and take your feet off the floor. So you're, therefore, hanging by the Skin on yer back

Lanced is a old fashioned medical term, for cut. In my case many years ago I had to have a Boil Lanced, thankfully it burst before I got it lanced, I was 2 years old.
