Health questions:Mirena... The birthcontrol?

I want to get the birth control Mirena..
but now im kinda scared...
i habe heard buy a guy that he was fingering a girl and he felt it..
and then i hurd that this couple had so much Sex that if got stuck up there....

What are your experiences with it?

I have had it about 2 months there has been alot of spotting and some cramps. It hurt getting it put in. Just some advice take some over the counter pain relievers before you have it inserted

I've had the Mirena for about 3 weeks now. I only spotted for 3 days after it was inserted and had a bit of cramps. No side effects, yet and hopefully they'll be minimal to none. I've had Sex since it was inserted and have had no problems whatsoever.

If you insert your finger or someone else does, the strings will be obviously be felt which is perfectly fine. There's always the case where the string goes inside the uterus, or is lost and the Mirena has to be removed in the OR while under general anesthetic (happens in 1 in MANY patients) but intercourse can't only be faulted for this happening.

Like someone else said, take some pain relieving med's (Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, etc) before having it inserted and afterwards for the cramps. I didn't before the insertion and it was very uncomfortable. It only takes a few minutes to be done, fairly quick.
