i don't suffer from paranoia and i've been smoking pretty much every day for 10 years. hmm...wonder when that'll catch up with me.
honestly, the only ACTUAL effect i've notice that people will swear weed causes is momentary lapses in short term memory....but then its funny. like, "oh...i forgot what i was going to say...hahahhaha" other than that it's all BS as far as i'm concerned.
it is what you make it...just like sugar pills. its all in your head.

kinda short term memory loss, easy to gain weight because it makes you super hungry. judgment is off
